INCEST: Lover mum and son vows not to give up thier relationship, even if they are sentenced to jail
A 36-year-old Monica Mares and her 19-year-old son, Caleb
Peterson takes their sexual affairs to public domain in an attempt to raise let
the world know of ‘Genetic Sexual Attraction relationships’, which is a
forbidden act in a sane society with strong moral values, which act is
vehemently condemned by the Holy Scripture.
Both the 36-year-old mother and her 19-year-old son may like
be jailed for about 18 months if found guilty of incest.
The couple (mother and son) say they are ‘madly in love’ and
nothing will tear them apart.
Caleb was adopted when he was a baby and only reunited with
his mum 18 years later.
Mother-of-nine Monica was just 16 when she gave birth to her
son and reconnected with him over Facebook before arranging to meet up last
Christmas.
They shortly began a sexual relationship and Caleb moved in
with his mum and her two youngster children – his own half-siblings.
During a conversation with Daily Mail Online, the couple narrated
how they are willing to risk everything to be together – and have decided to go
public with their affair in a bid to raise awareness of Genetic Sexual
Attraction (GSA) relationships.
Their sexual relationship went public, when the police was
informed, and was thereafter charged with incest.
They have been banned from having interaction with each
other – as they were also interviewed separately – and live apart in Clovis, New
Mexico, while they await a trial next month.
Though Monica explained that it didn’t feel weird or wrong
when the couple began their sexual relationship – but acknowledges that if she
had raised her son from birth, that would not have happened.
According to her: “The first time we were physical ended up
holding hands and then we ended up kissing and the kissing led to other things.
“I felt comfortable with him and we fell even more deeply in
love.”
Apart from the legal implications of their act, the couple
have met stiff opposition from friends, neighbours, family members and the
wider community and Monica has been physically attacked received death threats.
On the contrary, despite the opposition to the couple’s
relationship, they do have supporters in the community – including Dayton
Chavez, the father to two of Monica’s sons Moses, nine, and Joseph, 12.
He said: “I’ve told them I still love you guys either way. I
support them.”
The couple – who have roots with Native American Apache
tribes – are being backed by Cristina Shy who runs www.lilysgardener.com , a
support and advocacy website for related couples, also known as consanguine
amorous people.
According to Cristina: “It needs to be brought to the
attention of everybody in the country and people need to start thinking
differently.
‘It was the same with gay people just a few years ago and
now they can get married they are accepted.”
Nevertheless Prosecutor Andrea Reeb, District Attorney for
the Ninth Judicial District in New Mexico, says incest is against the law and
carries a maximum 18-month jail term and/or a £3,000 fine.
Whatever the outcome of their trial, the pair has vowed to
continue to their relationship and said they will move to one of the 50 states
where the punishment for incest is not so tough.
In fact, in Rhode Island sexual relationships among adult
relatives are legal.
