Bola Tinubu followers lambastes President Buhari in Aso Rock

Signs have developed on what followers of previous Lagos Governor, Bola Tinubu, talked about at a closed-door meeting which took place at the Presidential Villa, in Aso Rock with President Muhammadu Buhari, which had in attendance ex-governoro of Osu State, Chief Bisi Akande, the current governor, Rauf Aregbesola and Senator Olusola Adeyeye.

President Buhari is being be blamed by followers of Bola Tinubu in the All Progressive Congress, APC, for not accepting Tinubu's nominees for ministerial positions, and conflicted with the ex-Lagos senator's competitors in the Kogi races and Ondo governorship essential, among others.

According to sources, it was Buhari who requested Akande to see him at the Villa in Aso Rock

The President's welcome took after his wife (Aisha) upheaval that the president had ignored the individuals who helped him to get into power in 2015.

Asserts by Professor John Paden, in his book titled 'Muhammadu Buhari: Challenges of Leadership,' that Tinubu was not in support of Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as Vice President which had likewise excavated the relationship amongst Tinubu and Buhari.

A presidential source told Punch that Akande, who cut short his outing abroad to see the President talked gruffly amid the meeting.

The source said, “Baba Akande told the President that they were not happy with him. He told Buhari that apart from not giving Tinubu sufficient consideration during the ministerial appointments, everything that played out in the Kogi and Ondo elections showed that the President was supporting Asiwaju’s enemies.

“Baba also said Paden’s book was a major slight and that they believed the President was aware of the content of the book before it went public. He further said some of the people around Buhari were hell-bent on ensuring that the President and Tinubu became enemies because of what they would gain from the crisis.”

The source expressed that Buhari countered the cases, demanding that he was miserable with the rancour in the ruling party and that he had attempted to be reasonable for all concern.

In any case, Akande was said to have differed with the President in his reaction, and refered to further cases.

Akande and others advised the President to find a way to demonstrate that he was not battling Tinubu and the South-West. They encouraged him to offer respect to those that helped him to get to the presidency amid the following ministerial reshuffle which is coming up soon.

Responding, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said he didn't know about what happened amid the meeting between the President and the APC chieftains.


He said, “I am not aware of what was discussed with the President in the said meeting. As a matter of fact, it is not the nature of the President to disclose what people discuss with him in confidence during meetings.”
