Despite all the near misses and heroics of the Sweden

Umar, that got the curtain raiser as he headed Nigeria in front in the 39th
minute after a well conveyed cross from Stanley Amuzie.
Similarly, during the second half, the dream team made more
attempts to raise the goal tally through Mikel, but he was again denied by an exceptional
save from the Swedish goalkeeper.
Coash Siasia in a bid to inject some freshness into the national team, replaced Sadiq
Umar with Aminu Umar, while Kingsley Madu replaced Mike Obi in the 80th
minute.
Though, the Swedish team also made several attempts to humble
the Nigerian team, the boys held on to the narrow win that has led them into
the quarter final.
