Electing Buhari was a big mistake - Eldee

Eldee

Gradually, many Nigerians including those who sang Sai Baba are beginning to regret their decision in electing Buhari as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The latest of such regret is coming from a famous Nigerian Star, Lanre Dabiri alias Eldee. After taking a critical look into the present economic situation under the current Buhari led APC government, he lamented that Nigerians made a very big mistake to have thought Muhammadu Buhari was the Messiah of the country.

According to the 39-year-old architect cum rapper said the problems in Nigeria is not about parties (APC, PDP).

In a series of tweets on his Twitter handle @eLDeeTheDon, the ‘Wash Wash’ crooner stated that: “I did support PMB and if placed in same conditions as the time, I’d do so again. That he is not able to do what we expected is a diff story.

Here are the excerpts of his comments:
“Clearly this is not about APC or PDP. All the members of both parties are from the same gang. Personal insult attempts won’t change your fate.

“I understand the frustrations. I see how this administration is not helping matters. It was a mistake to think these guys were the way fwd.

“Interest rates are now through the roof so budding SMEs are further strangled by the system that ought to make life easier.

“The blame game won’t solve the problems Naija is facing, more young people in tune with today’s challenges have to assume leadership roles.

“Economic policies = 0 without a doubt.

“Recycled gang of clueless rent-seeking opportunists.

“We can’t fix this by waiting for the next set of options, we must create the next set of options by ensuring these options don’t resurface.

“The middle class is the economic engine of every nation. Recovery begins with restoring their prosperity by enabling SMEs,” Eldee tweeted.

A'rese explains how she was auditioned and rejected 14 times

A'rese

28-year-old Agharese Emopkae alias A’rese, who won the maiden edition of talent show, Airtel The Voice, narrates the numerous lessons she learnt all through the short period the competition held in South Africa, and how it has transformed her life into an ‘adult’.

A’rese, a theatre Arts graduate and first child of her parents with three other siblings, said further that, as the show progressed each day, she learnt so much from her co-contestants, vocal powerhouse, Waje, one of the judges of the contest
According to the 28-year-old graduate of Theatre Arts and first child from a family of four, while the show lasted, she learnt a lot from not only her co-contestants but also from vocal powerhouse, Waje, one of the judges of the contest.

Find below as she explains further in this interview:

How do you feel about your victory?
I feel overwhelmed and amazed! I am grateful and excited that I won. I just want to say a big thank you to the sponsors and organisers of the show. I also want to say thank you to everybody involved including the audience. I have learned a lot and I have also grown.

Did you exhaust all the tactics you had to win?
Well, I am not sure I tried really hard to show all sides of myself on the show. Just like I sang Nigerian songs, I also sang Western songs.

Was this competition your first attempt?
No, I have gone to many auditions although, The Voice was the first music talent hunt that I have ever auditioned for. Thank God I got this far.

When you were announced winner, how did you feel?
I was like ‘what?’ I was looking the other way and saying to myself, ‘what?’ ‘How?’ ‘Why?’ Seriously, that was what was going through my mind.

How tough was the journey?
Of course, it was tough and we went through so much. We all fought to stay on the show. Every contestant worked really hard and yes, people only see what they see on TV, but a lot of hard work went into this; it was quite tough.

Would you have cried if you had not won?
Why should I shed tears because I didn’t win? I think somebody who gets upset over losing will miss out on the bigger picture. You should ask yourself, ‘why didn’t I make the audition?’ ‘Why didn’t I win the prize?’ ‘There must be something I can do to win next time’. I auditioned 14 times for the first company I ever worked for and I was rejected over and over again, but each time I tried not to feel any hurt and learnt a lot. I was just growing until finally I came around and they saw that I had improved through a lot of hard work. So, everything is about learning and improving yourself.

How was your growing up?
Well, I wasn’t always an entertainer like a lot of people say they grew up dancing and singing for anybody who would listen, but that wasn’t always me. And so, when I decided that I wanted to do it, generally it was all for my family because I have always had their emotional support. They were behind me all the way and that helped build my confidence. If somebody is standing behind you saying ‘go for it, you can do this thing, just keep working hard’, that really makes the huge difference and that is my story.

What next after this competition?
I am going to keep working hard in music and on stage; I’m just going to keep working hard. Nigerians should expect something big from me because I am going straight into the studio to start recording.

Did you see any of your contestants as a threat during the competition?
Maybe, but I didn’t really see anybody in particular. I didn’t really think of other contestants as a threat, because I tried to see them as colleagues that I respect and I can learn from. And with that mindset nobody was a threat. We were just good friends.

Which of the judges did you learn most from?
That was Waje. There are so many things I learnt from Waje but the biggest one is self-confidence and being a strong woman. She made me real stronger (laughter). She has come out stronger than a lot of people thought.

Do you have plans for a collabo with Waje?
Ah, I hope to. Waje is a huge deal; she is a leading vocalist, so I would love do one with her, but I think that would be in the future. Let us see what the future will bring.

Did any member of your family ever discourage you?
My family is a very creative family. My parents have always supported us especially in the arts. And I am grateful that I have parents that would give you emotional support as far as doing something as difficult as entertainment is concerned.

Your last performance was so passionate, what really inspired that song?
I was just so grateful to God for taking me that far. Each week my prayer was just that I should have the grace and confidence to carry out whatever destiny has planned for me. And at that moment, I made it through to the final top 4, I was able to sing that song and just say thank you. It meant a lot to me; I think that the sincerity is what made it ring so deeply.

What advice do you have for youngsters who would want to take after you?

Always be yourself and stick to what you believe in. Don’t be afraid of being different or just being true to yourself.

The scholarly teacher depicted music as “arrant balderdash".

All things considered, Churchill courteously kept up his position in the contention .

While the exchange continued, Elizabeth (played by Queen Nwokoye) hurried out of the principle house, clearly sick, before help could contact her, she hurled. Educator Johnbull accepted that his undergrad little girl was regurgitating in light of the fact that she was pregnant.

Prompting threat from her dad who pursued her into the house with her kin and cleaning specialist, "Caro".

In the wake of completing what he termed “optical examination and initial parental diagnosis” of checking the body temperature and eyes of Eliza for indications of pregnancy, Professor Johnbull subtly purchased pregnancy test strips from a nearby pharmaceutical shop, and enrolled the assistance of Caro and additionally a medicinal specialist, to affirm his suspicion.

Curiously, in her trademark ignorant way, Caro gave the pregnancy testing strip to her sweetheart kid, Olaniyi, the nkwobi vender, acted by Yomi Fash-Lanso, who turned the issue to a shared examination including Mai Doya and Samson, the "adjudicator" acted by the humorist, Ogus Baba to make Professor Johnbull a fool. In any case, toward the day's end, the pregnancy test created a negative result.

TRUE CONFESSION OF A ROBBERY SUSPECT

Lagos robbery suspect

Disturbed by the series of robbery attacks, traders in Mushin Market, Lagos lodged complaints to the Police, which made the police at Mushin to map out strategies to curb the situation. The strategies of the police paid off as a result of the arrest of three suspected member of the gangs. The arrest was made while the boys were trying to break into one of the shops last week.

One of the suspects who named Ifeanyi Okolie showed no atom of remorse, as he blamed his actions on ‘the harsh economic situation in Nigeria’.

Okolie, and other suspected robbers numbering 45 that have been terrorizing the state were paraded at the Lagos State Police headquarters.

Okolie further revealed to the police that, members of his gang usually retired to hotels at the end of any successful operation where the loot is squandered on commercial sex workers and expensive clothes.  He told Crime Alert that robbers usually settled for commercial sex workers in order to avoid selling out their true identities.

Here are his confessions:  “My friend, Chukwuemeka lured me into robbery. I saw him dolling out money to some friends at a beer parlour last year.

We all call him big boy because he could pay as much as N30, 000 to N50, 000 for drinks at a sitting.  When I went to him to show me the way, he told me what he was into but said he had never killed anybody.  I decided to join him because of hardship.

If not for the harsh condition, I would not be standing here today. I want the Federal Government to come to the aid of idle youths by providing us work to do to earn a living just as it is being done elsewhere in the world.

We go for cash only: “If I can get something to keep me busy, I won’t go into robbery. The first time I went with them, we burgled a tile’s shop. We do not steal goods because one will easily be arrested. What we do is to go for the cash. Traders usually keep cash in their shops. They have an inbuilt safe in their shop where they keep money.   At the end of the first operation, three of us got N550, 000 each. The gang leader got the largest share.  Out of my share, I bought a fairly used car for N200, 000. I bought some new clothes and kept the rest at Motilado hotel in Isolo”.
