36 SENATORS AND 6 GOVERNORS TO DECAMP FROM APC

PMB, Tinubu, and Ogbonnaya Onu

Confusion and anxiety grips the national leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC), over a probable mass defection from the party nationwide.

According to reports, the party’s leaders are sleepless over the revelation, as the party may soon go through the path that led to the crises in the Peoples Democratic Party during Jonathan’s era.

With the present position of the members of the National Assembly, and unanimous resolution members of the House of Representatives passed warning the Presidency, there is a huge concern in the party that ‘Tambuwal scenario’ may become inevitable soon.

The party’s leaders are very worried that should the Senate President makes up his mind to decamp to the PDP, the 36 Senators and 6 State Governors may give him massive support.

There is the rumour going on that serious discussions are on-going, between some aggrieved members of the party and their PDP counterparts, on either to float another party or put forces together for mass defection from the APC to the PDP.

According to an anonymous source, the party national leadership is exploring ways of resolving their crisis politically, even as the party blames Buhari for his too many interference in the duties of the legislature.

Saraki, who is a member of the ruling party, is being prosecuted by the Federal Government, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, for alleged false declaration of assets.

He is also facing another trial at an Abuja High Court, alongside his Deputy, Senator Ike Ekweremadu of the PDP, over alleged forgery of the Senate Rules.

To make things worst President Buhari cancelled his planned a get-together with the members of the National Assembly during the Ramadan period, but had series of such meeting with people from different segment of the society including the physically challenged.

However, while the Presidency held that the dinner was just postponed, sources at the National Assembly said that the Legislators simply refused to attend, owing to what they perceived as the persecution of Saraki and Ekweremadu.
