Makarfi led PDP faction summons an emergency meeting after Court of Appeal ruling which upholds Sheriff as the bonafide chairman of the party

PDP crisis

The Senator Ahmed led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called for an emergency meeting of stakeholders of the party to examine the ruling of the Appeal Court which conflicted with his authority.

A notice of the meeting was signed by the secretary of the party, Dayo Adeyeye specified that those welcomed to the meeting are members from the National Executive Committee (NEC), individuals from the Board of Trustees (BoT), National Assembly members, previous governors of PDP, previous ministers under the party’s platform, previous National Assembly members and party elders.

The meeting is in obvious response to the decision of Port Harcourt Division of the court of Appeal which invalidated the May 21, 2016 national convention which had brought forth the caretaker committee and maintained the administration of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the National Chairman of the gathering.

The proposed meeting has been planned for Monday for 2pm at the International Conference Center (ICC) Abuja.

Prince Dayo Adeyeye stressed that all members invited should endeavour to attend the urgent meeting “unfailingly as crucial party matters will be discussed”
