After several months of living in
pains and discomfort, the 9-months-old Buhari Muhammad whose step-mum out of
cruelty chopped off his male organ has successfully gone through the first
stage of corrective surgery at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Bida, Niger.
This was made known to the public
during an interview with the Director-General of the state Child Rights
Protection Agency with some journalists in Minna the Niger state capital on
Friday.
While speaking, she state that
the corrective surgery was one of the several operations Buhari would undergo.
“He was operated upon by four neurologists and he is responding to treatment.
“Several other tests will still
be conducted to prepare him for the next operation,’’ Kolo said.
It will interest you to remember
that Buhari’s male organ was callously chopped off by his 17-year-old step-mum,
named Bara’atu Muhammad, when he was just one month old.
Later on, Bara’atu (step-mother)
accepted to the fact that she took such action against the baby out of a
jealous heart, as she was so determined to harm the boy’s biological mum, whom
she claimed was always insulting her.
The Police Public Relations
Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, told journalists that the suspect was still in Minna
Prison, pending the conclusion of investigations.
“Under the Police Criminal Law,
the suspect is an adult, she is above seven years; therefore, she can be
convicted and hanged for the offence,” Elkana said.
