It would have been a sad moment for the Royal Family for the
New Year, as Her Majesty the Queen was almost gun down by one of her guards
amid her late night stroll through the palace.
According to report, the guard roared into the darkness when
a figure was sighted walking having a walk around the Palace at about 3am, whom
he thought was a trespasser
Be it as it may, The Times reported saying, that the
supposed suspect was indeed Her Majesty, who decided to come outside to get
some fresh air in appreciation of the beauty of nature, as should could not
sleep.
Her Majesty in her response said, 'next time I'll ring
through beforehand so you don't have to shoot me,' when the guard narrated how
he almost fired his weapon.
About two days ago, Her Majesty first royal engagement was
performed, after recovering from the heavy cold forcefully made her to miss
church service to mark the festive season.
The Queen presented a trusted member of staff with an honour
as she continues to recuperate at Sandringham.
The monarch, who missed church on Christmas Day and New
Year's Day, is said to be up and about and dealing with her red boxes of
official papers.
Also, the Queen sent a message of condolence to the Turkish President,
after the attack in an Istanbul nightclub on New Year's Day that killed 39
people.
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh both fell ill with colds
in the run-up to Christmas, forcing them to delay their trip to the Norfolk
estate by a day.
While Philip went to the Christmas Day service at St Mary
Magdalene Church, the Queen stayed indoors. A week later, she also missed the
New Year's Day service.
