Good news for the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) as the world
football governing body FIFA places the nation’s national team ten places up in
the latest ranking done in the November 2016.
Thus, the national team has been placed on the 50th
position on the ranking table along with Burkina Faso and Slovenia, as
published on the official website of the FIFA.
The promotion came as a result of the 616 points the
national team earned after a 3-1 defeat against Algeria during the game leading
to the 2018 World Cup qualifier.
Accordingly, the country has attained joint 7th
position with Burkina Faso at the continental ranking table, behind countries
such as Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria and Congo DR.
