Left, Right, Centre stealing taking place under President Buhari's regime - Buba Galadima

Buba Galadima

When the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took over power in 1999, so many revelations were made with respect to corruption, human rights abuses, and all sorts of anti-people activities that tool place in the military era, which made the public build some trust for the party.

But after the All Progressive Congress (APC) took over, President Buhari came with a lot of noise trying to paint a different picture to the world that his government was the ‘messiah’ that will bring the needed change that will take Nigeria to a greater height, as he began to chase all his perceived political enemies with EFCC, as he unlawfully detained them, while other PDP members who had been accused of massive looting of public funds by the APC are being shielded to date because they have now decamped to the APC.

But a member of the Board of Trustees, BoT, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and a close ally of President Muhammadu Buhari right from the days in the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, Buba Galadima, has come out to speak the bitter truth to the public, that corruption in high places is still as they were before the APC came into power, as public funds are being looted daily by the APC led government.

According to him, “People are just stealing left, right and centre because of their initial fear that when this government comes in, they would be chased is no more there. So, it is business as usual in everything.”

He further stressed that Nigeria is not only on a reverse gear, but on a standstill.

Galadima was speaking with the Tribune at the weekend, where he noted that no aspect of the economy has witnessed development so far, saying that, “At least if it is not on a reverse gear it is on a standstill.”

According to Galadima, as long as politics and governance is concerned, some elements of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are still controlling affairs in the country and not the ruling APC.

“People who call the shots for 16 years still call the shots. So, how do you expect the government to move forward? Talk to any of the ministers individually and hear them talk.

“In all human endeavours, there is no development. A lot of money was pumped into the economy and one is not seeing the impact of the money that was put into the economy.

“The reason is simple, the government of change has not changed the personnel of those they call names every day.

“They only decide they are giving money and they pay themselves because nobody has checked or cross checked or investigated what commitment the previous government held.”
