Rapper Pitbull was conferred a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and maintained that the honour has proved that hard work pays.

He also used the moment to tell the audience that his drive to succeed was never all about money rather, “about coming from nothing to something”.
He further said “It’s about being the prime example of what the American dream is and what it embodies.”

Though his real name is Armando Christian Perez, Pitbull became a rapper after his graduation from high school. He has so far sold over 70 million singles and six million albums, along with over 9 billion You Tube views of his videos.

He made his 2011 album “Armando” in Spanish as a mark of tribute to his late father.

Furthermore, Pitbull was chosen by the world football body FIFA, and Sony Records  to write and record the official track of the 2014 World Cup, “We Are One (Ola Ola)” with Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte.
