LEADERSHIP TUSSLE LINGERS ON AS ALI MODU SHERIFF FAILED TO MAKE PEACE

Notwithstanding the fact that Ali Modu Sheriff’s camp of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have had some of their loyalist decamped to the Ahmed Makarfi led Caretaker Committee of the PDP, Senator Sheriff still maintained his position saying that he has not entered into any accord with anyone to let go of his position as the Party’s Chairman.

Dr Cairo Ojuogboh who was the previous Deputy national Chairman, asserted Senator Sheriff has authorised him to inform the media in Abuja Saturday that sheriff has not finalised any procedure to permit him relinquish his position.

It would be reviewed that the PDP, had at its extended national gathering meeting on Thursday in Abuja said that the attendance of Sen. Buruji Kashamu, a solid supporter of Sheriff was a confirmation that its compromise exertion was gaining ground.

In any case, Dr Cairo released the declaration, saying that the cases in court would be sought after to their conclusion.

He said: “I have the express permission of Sheriff to inform our teeming supporters and PDP faithful nation wide that he has not reach agreement with anybody, neither has he permitted anybody to conclude on any processes on his behalf.

“We are continuing with our cases in court, we respect the rule of law. Sheriff will address a press conference on Monday on the state of our party, PDP. Our goal remains to return the party to the people and stamp out impunity.”


As according to him, the issues that prompted the emergency in the gathering which Senator Sheriff is attempting to address have not been determined.
