Pandemonium at Budo Alaka village
in Kisi, Oriire Council area of Oyo State, Nigeria as a man alleged to be
mentally derailed set a house ablaze on Sunday morning, which killed five members
of the family, though two survivors of the incident were rushed to a Muslim
Hospital where they are currently taking treatment.
According to an eye witness, the
suspected lunatic named Monday Daniel, committed the arson while the members of
the family were still sleeping in the building.
Furthermore, the eyewitness
stated that the lunatic had earlier on met the family prior a day before the
incident making a demand for money to travel to an unknown location, however
the family member he approached refused to grant his request, which instigated
his anger against the family that possibly led to his barbaric act.
Thereafter, he came back early
Sunday morning and set the house on fire through the roof.
The dead are three-year-old
Blessing Ode, eight-month-old Friday Ode, 10-year-old Mummy Ogbada,
six-year-old Daddy Ogbada and 46-year-old Ogunma Ogbada.
The witness said the suspect
escaped from the scene of the incident but was later arrested by the Oyo State
Police Command.
Police Public Relations, Oyo State
Command, who confirmed the arrest, said the suspect would be transferred to the
Criminal Investigation Department of the command in Iyaganku, Ibadan for
further investigation.
