Couple who were put under pressure not to get married celebrates their 73rd year in marriage

73-year marriage

How pleasant it is to see a couple that met in a factory celebrating their 73rd marriage anniversary. A celebration which is very rare in the present days we are in.

97-year-old Trudy (wife) and 96-year-old Barclay Patoir (husband) who was then serving as an apprentice engineer in British Guiana, met themselves when he was placed at a factory in Speke, Merseyside.

Trudy was his assistant on the production line during the period.

Though their marriage was not without an opposition, yet they still conquered all the opposition and got married, and later relocated to a new house on an estate in Wythenshawe, Manchester, to date.

The marriage is blessed with two daughters, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
