Amaechi's boy Ojukaye Amachree arraigned in court for murder

PORT HARCOURT: Asari-Toru Local government ex-Chairman, Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, will now stand trial under the watchful eye of two separate courts in the High Court in Port Harcourt.

Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Iyayi Laminkara, had in a decision in October a year ago said she would not proceed with the matters taking after the arrangement of petitions composed against her which were at that point being examined by the National Judicial Council, NJC.

Ojukaye's matter before Justice Magaret Opara has however been re-assigned to Justice Joy Akpughunum while the one which is before the Chief Judge was re-aasigned to Justice Chinwendu Nworgu both of the High Court in Port Harcourt.

The fomer LGA boss, Ojukaye Flag-Amachree is standing trial on two separate charges of kill and endeavored kill.

At the point when the matter came up under the steady gaze of Justice Akpughunum, the judge questioned why the charged was not in court regardless of being put on notice.

Thus, Counsel to Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, Emenike Ebete apologized to the court and guaranteed to do the best possible thing on the next deferred date, which is February 9.

In the interim, Justice Chiwendu Nwogu has settled February 8 for the previous Asari-Toru Local government executive, Ojukaye Flag-Amachree to take request for the charges against him.

Justice Nwogu deferred the date after counsel to Ojukaye, Emenike Ebete, told the court that his customer is still being admitted in the Hospital.

State Counsel, Godwin Obla who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria talked with newsmen outside the court stated, “We have applications we want to tender to this court.”

“1We can’t continue to tolerate his absence from court but as a Senior Lawyer, I decided to be patient. I hope they will bring him to court for him to take his plea.”

As far as it matters for him, Emenike Ebete who is speaking to Ojukaye said his customer will be in court on the following deferred date to take his request in the event that he is arranged.
