Rivers Speaker

In the history of Rivers State, more so in the current administration this will the second time the Rivers State House of Assembly will have another speaker in one year.

The recent occupant, Adams Dabotorudima, surrendered his position on Friday, December 30, 2016.

It might be reviewed that Dabotorudima's predecessor in office, Mr. Ikuinyi-Owaji Ibani, surrendered on Friday, December 18, 2015, not long after Governor Nyesom Wike displayed the N307bn Appropriation Bill for 2016 to the House.

Ibani was later succeeded by Dabotorudima, who is a representative of the Okrika people, which also falls within Rivers East Senatorial District as Wike.

Furthermore, now, Dabotorudima has also taken the path of his former boss in office.
