An Okitipupa Magistrate Court, Ondo State heard the case of
a housewife named Taye Akinbolade who apparently used razor blade to slash the
breast of a another lady who is accused to be her husband’s lover.
Mrs. Akinbolade went haywire and committed the offence after
she supposedly caught her husband with the said lover having intercourse on their
matrimonial bed. The 28-year-old housewife, is a trader living at No. 5 Beke
street, Ikoya.
She has, nevertheless, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
According to the Prosecutor, Inspector Zedekiah Orogbemi,
the accused met her husband and his lover on their matrimonial bed at about
8:30pm at their residence, No. 5 Beke street, Ikoya, Okitipupa on November 25,
2016.
The Inspector also narrated how the accused had been
trailing the victim prior to that day, the incident occurred, where she beat
her up mercilessly, before proceeding to cut her breast, face and head with a
new razor blade.
The adulterous husband of the accused, named Tunde
Akinbolade ran away at the beginning of the fight between his wife and lover,
but later on came back to rush the victim to the hospital.
Accordingly, the prosecutor said the offence contravened
Section 338 of the Criminal Code Cap.37, Vol.1, Laws of Ondo State, 2006.
The Magistrate, Mr. Banji Ayeomoni, allowed the accused bail
in the sum of N500,000 with one indemnity in like sum, saying that the surety
must also produce evidence of two years tax clearance.
Ayeomoni, who described the accused as wicked accused her of
taking laws into her hands.
She adjourned the case till Dec. 13 for further hearing.
