Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka has threatened to cut his green
card and depart the United States if Donald Trump wins the presidential race,
as per a report by The Guardian.
The report said Soyinka, a researcher in-habitation at New
York University's Institute of American Affairs, uncovered the arrangement in a
discourse to Oxford students.
He was cited as saying, “If in the unlikely event he does
win, the first thing he’ll do is to say [that] all green-card holders must
reapply to come back into the US. Well, I’m not waiting for that.
“The moment they announce his victory, I will cut my green
card myself and start packing up.”
The Nobel laureate likewise scrutinised Brexit, cautioning
that there is an ascent of "ultranationalism" and approaching
youngsters to oppose any form of persecution.
His remarks come under three weeks after 70 Nobel laureates
sponsored Democratic Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton.
On Monday, around 370 financial analysts and eight Nobel
laureates criticised Trump, blaming him for advancing fear inspired notions, in
addition to other things.
In any case, Clinton has seen her lead in survey slip after
the FBI declared that it was reviving her email test.
