Bayelsa State agog, as Supreme Court upholds Seriake Dickson's victory at the poll

Seriake wins at the Supreme Court

Tuesday’s landmark judgement by the Supreme Court in upholding the victory of the governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson has once again shown that no amount of the Buhari led government and the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) can intimidate judges who know stand for the truth at all time.

After the ruling, series of goodwill messages are being sent by well-wishers, as well as the opposition Peoples Democratic Party on his victory at the Supreme Court on Tuesday.

The Supreme Court  appeal was filed by the the All Progressive Congress (APC) and its Governorship Candidate in the December 5, 2015 Election, Chief Timipre Sylva.

In a statement by the spokesman of the party, Dayo Adeyeye, he said the Judgment has once again, “confirmed the mandate freely given to the PDP and its candidate in Bayelsa State, and also show that the State of Bayelsa is totally for the PDP.

“We also appreciate the Judiciary for serving justice in the face of intimidation and harassment by the Executive and its instruments of coercion against the rule of law.”

“Finally, we commend the people of Bayelsa State for standing firm with our party and the Governor during this period, while urging the Governor to continue with his people oriented programmes in the state”, the statement concluded.
