There was a pandemonium in Nasarawa State in Nigeria, as Occupants
of Assakio Development Area in Lafia, were tossed into perplexity on Saturday
taking after the sudden appearance of a strange cross five feet far from a central
mosque in the locality.
The enigmatic detection of the strange cross, which is a
symbol common with Christians, pulled in a mammoth group from Assakio and its surroundings
with numerous appealing to God for absolution and divine blessings.
According to sources, a 15 year-old-young lady, Hajara
Hussaini, in a meeting with SUNDAY PUNCH, explained how she initially located
the indication of a cross at around 8pm on Wednesday.
According to the teenage girl, she first saw the signs of
the cross when her parents sent her on an errand, and went back to inform her
parents as she was so frightened by the strange light.
Affirming the occurrence to writers, Matan (mother of the girl)
said she had sent her little girl to visit her grandma. The moderately aged
lady included that her little girl saw the cross while coming back from the
errand.
Accordingly, the Chief Imam of Assakio Central Mosque,
Muhammed Iliyasu, also affirmed the occurrence, and said to journalists that
the presence of the cross inside the premises of the mosque was a divine
revelation, as he acknowledged the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Speaking, Very Rev. Michael Dogo of the Evangelical Reform
Church of Christ, Assakio additionally affirmed the episode to newsmen and said
the cross portrayed the spirit of reconciliation.
Different observers, who addressed SUNDAY PUNCH at the scene
of the picture, communicated apprehension and bewilderment.
An indigene of Enugu State, Grace Eze, who lives in the
Ashige zone of the community, included that she got recuperated in the wake of
going to the scene of the cross.
According to her “I underwent a surgery about two years ago
after which I started to experience a movement in my body. But after praying
before the cross, I got healed.”
An occupant, Jonathan Amegwa, said he was overpowered by the
presence of the cross in the mosque.
