Tension in Edo State, as APC and PDP supporters resorts to violence

APC and PDP youths clash

Following the ill-fated postponement of the Edo State gubernatorial election earlier billed to hold tomorrow 10 September, angry youths are beginning to take laws into their hands in order to express their anger.

As report reaching us has it that there was high tension in Okugbe, Okpella, Estako East Local Government region of Edo State Friday morning as supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP were affirmed to have assumed control over the roads of the town, conflicting with supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

As indicated by a source, the security at the divisional police post in Okpella have been overpowered by the young people who may have most likely left control, crushing vehicles and other property having a place with supporters of APC.

The source additionally said the youths turned out in their numbers to compellingly break out some suspected PDP hooligans captured by the police from the cell.
