Schlumberger retains skilled workers with 20% pay

Report has it that workers in the oil and gas industry in Aberdeen have been placed put gardening leave from Schlumberger for about a year 20% of their usual salary, but with a restriction not to work anywhere else.

This incentivised leave of absence was initiated by the company in an attempt to retain skilled staff during the global downturn in the oil and gas industry.

This means that workers across the company’s operations take a one-year sabbatical on a segment of their regular pay.
