An elderly man which identity is given as Michael Downing,
aged 83 had been dragged and eaten by four violent dogs. After the attack, the
man became unidentifiable due to how horrible the assault was that led to his
death.
It is thought they got away from their proprietor's yard,
got Mr Downing as he was placing garbage in the dustbin, and pulled him back
under the wall to their refuge.
The owner of the mammoths, Lephus Felton, says they more
likely than not been incited - however now confronts having them put down and
additionally criminal allegations.
According to Eddie Edwards, who discovered Mr Downing's brutalised
corpse, told News 4 Jax : "That's a horrible way to go.
"I couldn't imagine being mauled to death - it don't
look like something you want to see.”
Mackenzie Partin, who was with him when he found the body,
included: "He was eaten alive."
Companions and neighbors paid tribute to the OAP known as
'Mr Mike' in the area, saying he was an awesome individual who inhabited whilst
wearing a major smile all over.
They included his ruthless death could have been dodged.
Nevertheless Mr Felton said his dogs are primed to ensure
his home and wouldn't assault without justifiable reason.
While speaking, he said: "He had to be antagonizing my
dogs to be pulled under there ... even the police say, because he got pulled
underneath.
"So he had to stick his hands under there, so that's
when they grabbed him, I guess."
He added that his pets "ain't no vicious dogs"
Contrary to his claims, some neighbours say they have in the
complained in regards to Mr Felton's dogs.
As indicated by Jacksonville Sheriff's Office police have
been called to Mr Felton's home 14 times in the previous five years.
The dogs are being announced hazardous, which would prompt
them being humanly consciously euthanized.
Mr Felton himself will be faced with charges extending from
a civil citation to reference to careless murder.
