A teenage school boy who impregnated his teacher awarded £4.5m compensation

DRAMA: As a student who fathered a child with his previous teacher while they were in a relationship for a year has gotten £4.5 million as compensation.

The case marks one of the biggest single-casualty sex exploitation payments by a public organization, after a California school locale settled the claim with the ex-student.

The subject had made a claim that authorities at Redlands secondary school thought about his association with Laura Whitehurst, 29, yet neglected to caution his family.

It was narrated by his lawyer Vince Finaldi to the Los Angeles Times that: ‘The size of this settlement represents the gravity of the damage done to this young victim and his family and it also highlights the extreme malfeasance and neglect by school officials who turned a blind eye to the criminal conduct of a teacher and failed to protect a student.’

Whitehurst, has thus served six months in prison and is enlisted as a sex transgressor, gave birth to the baby in 2014, with the pair sharing responsibility of the child.

Her sexual affairs with the school boy, now 21, began when he was 16.

She was imprisoned in the wake of conceding unlawful sex with three previous students at Redlands and Citrus Valley High School.

School district authorities however said they were not conceding wrongdoing by settling the claim.
