The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) fixes another National
Convention to be held in Port Harcourt again on August 17.
This announcement came after an expanded caucus of the party
met at the Shehu Yar’Adua centre in Abuja.
A committee was also announced by the party to work out a
zoning strategies for the party national officers, that will zone the national
chairman to the South as the North have been given the presidency.
Also, in the spirit of reconciliation, the party went
further to establish a reconciliation committee to bring all party members
together. Senator Ike Ekweremadu was appointed to lead the committee.
However, the party’s national secretariat in Abuja is
currently under seal by the Nigerian Police following altercations between the
loyalists of the two factions.
