JAMB DENY USING POINT SYSTEM AS ADMISSION CRITERIA

JAMB 2016

JAMB has said that point system test is not needed be it written, electronic or oral.

As per the announcement, candidates are required to display their Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results/Advanced Level (AL) results for proper check and clearing purposes.

It noticed that WAEC, NECO and NBTE results or its equivalent were worthy as registration prerequisites.

The announcement included that every candidate was relied upon to have at least five credits at SSCE, including English, Mathematics and whatever other three applicable subjects to his or her course.

It said that the names of qualified applicants awaiting SSCE/AL results could be kept in perspective pending the arrival of their outcomes.

“Any candidate that does not possess the requirements as listed above is deemed to have failed the screening.

“Consideration of the recommended list as forward by JAMB should be completed within one month from the date of receipt of the list.

“Any institution that has a shortfall in the admitted candidates could make-up for candidates from other departments on the institutions list.

“Reasons for rejection of candidates on the list should be clearly stated with proof provided alongside.

“This is imperative so that the general public will note the correct process,’’ the statement said.

It said that the administration had coordinated that the rules must be entirely stuck to with no modifications.
