The Peoples Democratic Party PDP, may soon bounce back as
the two factions led by Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and Senator Ahmed Makarfi
agrees to shift grounds.
The camp of Sen. Sheriff confirmed that presently
negotiation were in progress, and the two factional leaders would soon meet in
order to bring an end to the leadership dispute in the party.
This was revealed by the National Chairman, Dr. Cairo
Ojuogboh in Abuja on yesterday (Tuesday).
In his speech, Ojuogboh said: “We are already negotiating,
negotiation talks are already in top gear and we have made remarkable progress
in the process of resolving the issues. The two parties are talking very
seriously in various fronts, and these talks have progressed. Last week the two
major contenders were to meet, but for one reason or the other, one of them
travelled and the meeting was postponed. But the meeting will take place as
quickly as possible and I want to assure you that the end is in sight and peace
is achievable.”
He further revealed that out of the 12 governors of the
party, 9 were in support of the former governor of Borno State. And that only
Governor Nyesom Wike, Ayo Fayose of Ekiti and Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta States
were against Sen. Sheriff.
