A man from Florida has vowed to do whatever it takes him to
ensure his alligator his kept alive, even after he was told by Florida wildlife
officials that the creature is too big to roam in hi garden.
The 13ft male, known as Gwendolyn has been looked after by
David Van Buren, a retired fire fighter for about 47 years.
The alligator’s favourite treat is said to be pizza and
cookies, and was taken also taken to college by the David.
Mr. Van Buren had in the past faced series of battle to keep
his pet. In one such battle, the state took Gwendolyn away from Mr. Van in
1994. But Mr. Van took the matter to court and got his pet alligator back as
the judge ruled in his favour.
Mr Van Buren also stressed that Gwendolyn is healthy and
does not pose any danger to anyone, and he will do whatever it takes to keep
him.
Florida Fish and Wildlife officials say Gwendolyn is used to
living with Mr Van Buren and it would be best if he stayed with him.
But they insist Mr Van Buren will need to make changes to
his property so he has more space.
The owner must be a brave man.
