While some bigots are busy making noise about the Niger Delta struggle, the apex socio-political organisation in the North, Arewa Consultative Forum has finally joined President Buhari to beg the Niger Delta Avengers to embrace peace and lay down their arms.
The appeal was made by the ACF through its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Muhammed Ibrahim, as Muslims mark Sallah celebrations.
The Forum stressed that destroying oil installations and polluting the environment cannot be a solution to their complaints against the federal government or oil companies.
They further stressed that development and prosperity can only thrive where peace and understanding exists.
However, the question the people of the Niger Delta keep asking is, why is the government so reluctant in genuinely addressing the challenges of the region with all the revenue the nation gets from their native land. Some senior citizens and intellectuals are also calling on the Buhari led government to implement the 2014 Conference report which has a lot of solutions to the tensions in the country as a whole.
The Norther Forum also called on the Muslim community to pray for the unity of Nigeria.
