Andrew Wilson regains freedom after being wrongfully convicted and jailed for 32-years

Andrew Wilson released from jail

Sixty-two-year-old who got wrongfully jailed for 32 years for a  crime he knew nothing about has told Sky News that he will take entertain any form of anger against his false accusers who made him to go through such a tough moment in his life time. Rather he said he was always convinced that he would be vindicated someday.

Mr Wilson’s hope finally came into reality when he walked out of prison as a freed man after his murder case was thrown out by a judge.

Mr Wilson was given a rousing welcome by family members after he regained his freedom from Los Angeles Men’s Central jail.

During his media chat with Sky News, he said: "It scared me," he said. "But it was a good moment, it was a happy moment for me because I got a chance, not to just sit and talk to them, but I had the chance to hug my loved ones and tell them that I love them."

Mr Wilson was earlier on wrongfully convicted of robbing and murdering of 21-year-old Christopher Hanson while sleeping in a stationed car with his girlfriend in south-central Los Angeles far back in 1984.

Despite all the difficulties he went through, Mr Wilson was never deterred as he stood his ground to always maintain his innocence. In 2015, student campaigners from the Project for the Innocent at the city’s Loyola Law School took up his murder case

Later on, prosecutors conceded to the fact that several mistakes had hindered Wilson from having a fair trial. Thus they are not expected to carry out any more action against him.

The court heard that key evidence had been withheld from the jury during the original trial including that which showed Mr Hanson's girlfriend was not a credible witness.

Mr Wilson says he "doesn't have time" to be angry at those who put him in jail. "If I do that, I'm taking good energy and wasting it when I can be spending that energy on my family.

"I don't have time to waste being mad or thinking of something negative. Life is too short."

He said the fight to prove his innocence kept him going while he was inside.

"You just do it," he said. "You keep your fight going. It's like anything else, if there is something that you want you have to fight for it and you never give up.

"If you know you're innocent, you never give up.

"I'm glad I didn't give up."

Mr Wilson said being outside had come as a shock. "It is all so space-age now. I haven't had movement like this, seen movement like this, just 32 years of being confined."

He paid tribute to the law students for embarking on the campaign that made his freedom a reality, saying he would give his life for them.

A court will decide in May whether Mr Wilson should now be ruled innocent of the crime. That would open the way for him to receive compensation from the state of California.

His mother spent years trying to get attention for his case. He will now be with her when she turns 97 in a few weeks' time.

This man buried himself in a coffin, after giving his wife a kiss

Man bury's himself

Bizarre after a husband got himself buried in a coffin moments after he kissed his lovely wife and said goodbye to her.

The lid of the coffin was then closed and covered with soil over it by his friends and family, after John Edwards entered into the coffin and laid himself down.

According to report, the man is planned to spend three days inside the coffin in a hole dug with a JCB outside a church in Belfast.

Nevertheless he will at least have the benefit of mod cons including broadband internet.

But while speaking, John made it known that the essence of such a move was to help raise awareness for all those who feel depressed.

The former addict founded the charity Walking Free, which helps people who are suicidal and those with addiction.

He will live stream help and advice to addicts from inside his coffin.

"I'm a former addict and I've been clean and sober for 25 years," John said.

"I'm making a very large coffin, I'm burying it in East Belfast and I'm going to live in it for three days."

During the period of his stay in the coffin, John is going to make a live broadcasting stories of hope from his temporary underground home to help those who are struggling.

"I know this is a radical move but people are continually contacting me who are either suicidal or who know friends or family who are," he told Belfast Live .

"My plan is to speak to them from the grave before they get there and show them hope."

A piece of ground alongside Willowfield Parish Church, in the east of the city, was prepared for the stunt as JCBs dug a hole to accommodate a coffin.

The coffin, big enough for John to sit up and lie down in, has been kitted out with electrics and broadband.

The live stream from the coffin will be broadcast on the Walking Free website and live on Facebook.

John will take calls, emails, Skype and texts from people around the world, who in turn will share their stories, live streaming through the coffin.

It is hoped the feed will reach millions around the world.

"People will communicate with me how they have navigated and overcome trauma, suicide attempts, coping with addicted children or family members as well as addiction to substance and behavior," he said.

He is also a devoted believer of the Lord Jesus Christ (Christian) and is married for more than 20 years to Trish, and expressed how privileged he is to be of help to those who have given up in life.

Willowfield rector David McClay said: "John is going into the coffin on Ash Wednesday which marks the start of Lent. The season of Lent is one when Christians talk about dying to ourselves.

"But the message from the grave is one of hope - hope for those who are struggling with addictions, hope for those who feel life is hopeless, and hope of life that is eternal.

"John knows that he is going to be buried on March 1. The rest of us don't know when we will be buried, when our lives will end - but for every Christian there is the confident hope of life forever because of what Jesus has won for us on the cross.

"He did it so that we don't have to pay the price for our sin and guilt. John Edwards demonstrates the amazing transformation that Jesus can bring to our lives. I invite you to join in the live streaming of this event and hear for yourself."

John's exploits can be followed on Twitter using the hashtag #GraveChat - and is also streaming video from inside the coffin on his Facebook page.

Depressed Chinese women made to “experience death” as they were told to lie in shallow grave after ‘death classroom’ so that they can “appreciate life” better no matter their circumstances

Death class

Women from Chongqing in south west China who claimed to be fed up with life are being taken to the 'grave classroom' to enable them have a feeling of what death is all about. The purpose of the experiment is to enable them to appreciate being alive, despite what challenge they face.

The aforementioned classroom was founded by a thirty-year-old Liu Taijie after she recovered from an attempt to commit suicide three years ago.

The attempted suicide came after she could not get a job for herself having made several attempts to find one, during that turbulent period of joblessness, her marriage also began to fail, as she was abandoned by her husband and despised by members of her family, which perhaps led to her frustration.

Liu created the 'grave classroom', which consists of a small piece of open land on a hillside with six shallow graves dug into it.

Women are then invited to lie in the holes and contemplate the world without them in it.

They are also given mindfulness lessons in the grave classroom, and encouraged to regain their confidence and self-worth .

"I was deceived by a pyramid selling scam and I wanted to die.

"Tears are useless and death cannot solve problems. I want to change and use my experience to help women."

According to the People’s Daily China, an emotional lady who recently made use of the ‘grave classroom’ told the journalist that: "When I think of that if I were dead - my parents, my child and my husband...

"They would not be able to take it."

Liu added: "Through experiencing death, I hope to dare them to face life, to appreciate life.

"To have an optimistic attitude towards failures and towards life. To have a better future."

If this teenage amputee and Marine amputee could beat all odds and impact other people’s life, then no one has any excuse not to be resourceful in life

Amputee Lydia

Brave Lydia Cross who lost her legs at age two due to meningitis got fascinated at Mark Ormrod when he was seen coming back from Afghanistan a triple amputee after being blown up by bomb during the war against the Talibans.

As a result she was moved to render some kind of assistance to the Marine and other soldiers who became amputated like him.

“He’s got ‘leggies’ just like me,” she exclaimed out to her mum and, from that moment, she threw herself into fundraising for injured veterans.

The teenager who turns 16 this Saturday is campaigning to raise awareness of the disease – backed by the injured war hero she helped almost 10 years ago.

Lydia said: “Mark was my hero from the moment I met him. Even though I was just a little girl, I instantly connected with him because he had lost his legs like me.

“I was aware from an early age that our soldiers had sacrificed so much.

“Today I feel lucky in my life. There have been difficult times growing up but my family, friends and humour have seen me through the worst days.

“It’s important to me to help families who have been affected by meningitis and to raise awareness.

Amputee Marine

“Now I am older I am proud to get involved with campaigning and it is an honour to have Mark by my side to help. He is an inspiration to so many and together we can show everyone that life goes on even when you lose limbs.”

Lydia’s amputation came after a GP misdiagnosed her condition to be a virus, which has caused her years of excruciating pain and surgeries as she grows up.

But despite all this, the incredible little girl battled through with remarkable courage and fortitude.

It was at the Headley Court military hospital in Surrey that they had their first meeting in 2008.
Lydia said: “I remember seeing Mark and other soldiers on the television after returning from war and it was just an instinct to want to help.

“It was also a challenge for me to show I could still do things even though I had lost my legs too.

“I started off by swimming a mile and then I did a big run with Mark and some other Marines to raise funds and awareness for military charities.

“The fundraising just snowballed from there, doing cake sales and a mini wheelchair marathon, raising £78,000. I was even privileged to launch the Poppy Appeal one year with Mark.”

She also went as far as lobbying Princes William and Harry for help to make the lives of our injured soldiers more bearable.

Mark – who was hailed as Prince Harry’s hero – told how the courage of a little girl with no legs helped pull him through his darkest hours. The Commando stepped on a landmine on Christmas Eve 2007 while on patrol in Helmand – losing his right arm and both legs above the knee.

He narrated saying: “I was still at Headley Court Rehabilitation Centre for the military when Lydia came to visit.

“I had spent a long time in hospital in despair but I was determined to reclaim my life despite being told I would never walk again.

“There were moments in my early days when I wanted to end it all – and then there was Lydia. An incredible little girl with no legs just like me who was always smiling and doing things to help other people.

“Her attitude was amazing and changed my outlook. If this little girl could be so happy and helpful, then what excuse did a tough Marine have not to rise to the challenge? She showed me that you can dig deep and achieve whatever you want if you have the grit and determination.

“Lydia did so much to help veterans like me but it was her attitude that shone so brightly.

“A little girl taught me how to help others and not be selfish. She really is a remarkable girl and I’m very proud to call her and her family my friends.”Now it’s my turn to help her in her campaign against meningitis .”

Lydia is an ambassador for the Meningitis Research Foundation and desire to see more children immunised. Figures show that last year an estimated 400 cases in under-fives could have been prevented with greater recognition of the symptoms.

Lydia said: “It’s important to me to help families affected by meningitis and to raise awareness and it is an honour to have Mark by my side.

“He’s an inspiration and together we can show everyone that life goes on even when you lose limbs.”

Lydia, from Braunton, Devon, won the hearts of the nation and was named a Child of Courage at the Pride of Britain Awards. She even received an honorary green beret from the Royal Marines and is also the only child patron of Help for Heroes.

But she admits some of her toughest challenges arose in her teens.

“I have always accepted that I am different and became used to people staring but I became more self-conscious when I hit 13,” she said. “I had experienced bullying at school by one nasty girl who would call me names and push me and that used to upset me.

“I also knew I couldn’t wear fashionable clothes my friends were buying because I was self-conscious about covering my prosthetics but I was very lucky to have amazing friends. My mum and dad gave me so much love and support and I had some counselling too which made me realise that I might be different but I was okay just as I was.”

Sport-made Lydia, who uses prosthetic running blades, recently returned from a school trip to Uganda after raising £1,700 to pay for it by working in a chip shop.

She said: “I met so many people in Africa who had been through really dreadful, tough lives and it taught me to be grateful for the amazing life I have. I’ve had struggles but I’ve also got so much to enjoy in my life too. Whatever you have to deal with in life you should never waste a single day.”

Also, in addition of campaigning for meningitis awareness, she plans to travel and teach English in Thailand before going to university. Mark, 33, is planning to release his second book about his life and a documentary to mark the 10th anniversary of the day he was blown up later this year.

He has run across America on prosthetic blades, skydived, wing-walked on a plane and cycled around the UK for charitable causes.

“Like Lydia, I have known incredible dark days but I made up my mind early on I was going to live a good and happy life,” he said.

“The more you give back to people, the richer your life becomes and I am blessed to have my wonderful wife Becky and three gorgeous children.

“I am lucky in many ways and I make the most of every day. I went from wanting to end it all to living life to the full. And it’s a privilege to help Lydia . She will do incredible things.”

This amazing pair have much in common physically and mentally but, most remarkably, they agree on one big issue.

Given the chance to alter their lives, they insist they wouldn’t change a thing.

Read how Karla Jacinto was raped 43, 000 times by policemen, judges, priests and pastors.

Karla Jacinto

Could Karla Jacinto’s claim of being raped 43, 000 times be true or a mere fallacy?

Jacinto was a victim of human trafficking and revealed that during her ordeal she was abused s8xually by 30 men on a daily basis for more than 4 years right from when she was sixteen years old.

Jacinto who is now 24 years old said she was miraculously saved during an anti-trafficking operation in 2008 in Mexico City.

She narrated her bygone, displaying photos of herself at the age of 12, saying, “I was first targeted at the age of 12 by a trafficker who prized me away from my dysfunctional family with gifts and money.

“I was eventually taken to Guadalajara, one of Mexico’s biggest cities, and forced to work as a prostitute.

“They would beat me with sticks, they would beat me with cables, they would beat me with chains.

“They forced me into prostitution at age 12.

“There were people who would laugh at me because I was crying. I had to close my eyes so I wouldn’t see what they were doing to me.

“Some of my attackers were uniformed police officers as well as judges, priests and pastors.

“I thought they were disgusting.

“They knew we were minors; we were not even developed. We had sad faces.”

Speaking further, she said her life has been turned around to help others.

At the age of 24, after years of recovery from the deep emotional wounds and harrowing memories of sexual abuse she suffered, she said she has become a human rights activist.

“Nowadays people are listening to me, I now travel the world giving help and advice to other victims of sexual slavery – even meeting Pope Francis at the Vatican to discuss the issue.

“I’m not just surviving; I’m thriving as a human rights activist speaking out against modern-day slavery,” Jacinto added.

one of world richest black woman - Folorunso Alakija explains why she did not go to university

Folorunsho Alakija

If attaining a university degree automatically makes one rich, the world would have been full of too many billionaires, but research has shown that most university degree holders cannot even comfortably say they are millionaires not to talk of being billionaires.

A Nigerian billionaire and business mogul Folorunso Alakija finally reveals her reason for not going to the university. She stated that going to the university was never part of destiny, yet she has been able to attain her aspirations without any university degree. And today she is one world richest black woman.

She said this on Thursday at the Excellence in Leadership program, which is organised yearly by Daystar Christian Centre, Ikeja, Lagos.

The founder of Rose of Sharon motivated the audience by saying that she never allowed a lack of university education to suppress her dreams and ambition.

“If I had the opportunity of going to the university, maybe I would have come out with a second class upper or lower but that didn’t happen; that wasn’t to be my destiny,” she said.

“I would have loved to go to the university as we all know that university education is good but some of us who have not gone, it is not the end of the world”, she added.

Alakija to the audience that it was determination and hard work that helped her to climbed the success leather, as she was ever ready to pay the price of being where she is today.

“Having put my foot in the door, I decided I was not going to turn back”, she noted, revealing that when she had to file a lawsuit against the federal government for taking 50 out of her 60 percent equity, she remained determined. Though it took her 12 years to bring the case to conclusion, determination and patience helped her at the end

The oil magnate noted that she is a product of hard work, sweat, tears, and tenacity, stressing that she’s not an overnight success.

“A lot of things have been said about me, some say I sold my way to the top; I remember that the headline of one of the national dailies in the country once said ‘Hairdresser given an oil block’. So I even became a hairdresser, one of the many names I was given”, she said.
