Cockroach in a woman's brain

After much efforts, the medical experts were able to get out the cockroach with clamps and a sucker alive from the lady.

The team of medical experts were impressed that Selvi did not overlook the scratchy sensation, saying that if the insect had died while still in her, it would have caused an infection close to her brain.

Selvi, from Injambakkam, India, who did not want to give her full name, said: "My immediate reaction after feeling that crawling sensation in the right nostril was to brush it off in half sleep.

"But before I could do anything, it went inside. I could not explain the feeling but I was sure it was some insect.

"There was a tingling and crawling sensation. Whenever it moved, it gave me a burning sensation in my eyes.

"I spent the entire night in discomfort, sitting up and waiting for dawn to go to Stanley hospital after getting the reference of a doctor from my employer."

Selvi and her son went to the nearest clinic after the incident on Tuesday, but claim nobody could find anything wrong.

The next day she went to state-run Stanley Medical College Hospital, in Chennai, where doctors found the live roach.

Dr M N Shankar, head of the ENT department at the hospital, said: "This is the first such case I have seen in my three decades of practice.

"If left inside, it would have died before long and the patient would have developed infection which would have spread to the brain.

"It was difficult to remove it because of the place it was sitting in.

"I had to first drag it to a place from where I could pull it out.

"It was finally removed after 45 minutes."

That claim was exposed by the cross-party Health Committee in the mid-year, whose seat, Tory MP Sarah Wollaston, said the number was both "incorrect" and “risks giving a false impression that the NHS is awash with cash”.

This incorporates staff preparing and general wellbeing.

“It is unbelievable that they keep asking health and care services to provide more services, for more people, with less and less resource. These vital services are already stretched to breaking point.

“We need a long-term funding settlement for health and care. Figures like this show just how essential this initiative is.”

Jon Ashworth, Labour’s shadow Health Secretary, said social care cuts were compounding the health service’s woes.

Jon Ashworth, Labor's shadow Health Secretary, said social care cuts were aggravating the wellbeing administration's troubles.

“Ministers have now finally admitted what I've been warning for some time – that head for head, NHS spending will actually be cut next year,” he said.

“Alongside cuts to social care this will simply compound the crisis the NHS is already facing. Theresa May needs to use the Budget this March to give the NHS and social care the funding our constituents expect.”

"If you don't see results on the scales, it's OK. You should never feel let down, because a non-scale victory is as rewarding as a scale victory," he said.

NHS crisis takes a new twist as a baby boy was forced to sleep on two chairs for 5 hours due to lack of facilities.

Baby slept on chair at NHS

NHS crises takes a new shape as mother of a debilitated kid left lying on two NHS seats because of an absence of beds has hammered Theresa May's self-important dissent of a NHS emergency.

Rose Newman sat tight for five hours in an A&E with child Jack who had suspected meningitis as over-extended staff attempted to adapt to the sheer volume of patients and the department in "chaos".

Without any beds accessible to permit him to rests and facilitate his anguish, mum Rose was forece to improvise while the upset baby held up hours to be seen.

The unbearable situation made the 27-year-old mum to give some knocks to the Prime Minister, who rejected Jack's situation as one of a "small number of instances" when it was highlighted in the House of Commons by Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.

Jack, who turn two in about a month time, endured intense tonsillitis a week ago.

The little boy had a turn for the most awful on Wednesday and Rose, of Eastbourne, East Sussex, took him to a stroll in health centre where staff cautioned her to take him straight to the Conquest Hospital at Hastings, where there are better facilities to her nearby health centre.

PE teacher Rose said: “As a first time mum, it was really scary. The fear we had, the not knowing what was going on, was crazy.

“Theresa May said she accepted there had been a few instances where things like this happen. That is laughable.

“In that waiting room, there was a woman sitting opposite me, head in hands, I don’t know what had happened to her but she had been there for eight hours.

“Another baby, younger than Jack, had a big rash across her, had to be put on a drip, and they’d been waiting more than six hours.

“So ‘a few instances’, I saw more than that in one day in that one hospital. It’s not a few instances, I can’t believe she even said that. She needs to wake up.”

Mr Corybn fired a broadside at the Tory handling of the NHS during Prime Minister’s Questions in the House of Commons on Wednesday, where he asked: “Does the Prime Minister and the Health Secretary think this is an acceptable way of treating a 22-month-old child needing help?”

Mrs May ummed and ahed before answering: “I accept there have been a small number of instances where unacceptable practices have taken place.”

As if that was not enough, she went on to also hit out at the Red Cross, who raised an alarm saying the NHS was in the grip of a “humanitarian crisis”, calling the description “irresponsible and overblown”.

But Ms Newman said Mrs May was “out of touch” with the realities on ground.

According to Rose: “Jack suddenly went really downhill, quite floppy, quite unresponsive, had a rash and a dangerously high temperature.

“I took him to the walk-in clinic to see an emergency doctor because it was about 6pm and they said the symptoms couldn’t be ignored.

"The rash wasn’t going when you pressed it and it could be meningitis.

“When we arrived at A&E, Jack was seen by the pre-assessment/triage nurse who warned us the waiting time was really long.

“She phoned the children’s ward but they were too busy and couldn’t take him.

“We waited in A&E and a nurse gave him something that was supposed to take his temperature down but that didn’t have any effect.

“That nurse then went off shift and said a doctor would be along soon. We sat there for hours.

“We were in a sort of side-room, not quite the corridor, not a proper waiting area. I think it should have had a bed in it but it didn’t.

“We couldn’t cuddle him to sooth him because he would take on our body heat so we were trying to make him as comfortable as possible.

“When I asked about a bed, they said there simply wasn’t any.

“Luckily I had brought his quilt with me so we pushed two chairs together just so he could lie down.

“It was really distressing. Jack was in a really bad way, really poorly and there was just no-one and nothing available.

“I was grabbing people as they went running past and asking them where the on-call doctor was but they had to run off, they had their own things to attend to.

“I asked the A&E doctor if this was unusual and she said this was all day every day.

“They’re at breaking point. There were ambulances queuing out of the door, no beds and she was really apologetic but there was nothing she could do.

“No-one could do anything. They were running around like chaos. It was really bad, really scary.”

The mum stated that She and Jack waited five hours before the on-call doctor was able to see them.

He allayed fears of meningitis and was able to get the tot’s temperature down so the family could eventually go home in the early hours.

Jack was treated on the makeshift bed.

Rose, of Eastbourne, east Sussex, said she was under no illusion where the blame for the problems in the NHS lies.

Jack’s mum further stated that: “I’m such a fan of the NHS. I had a serious illness a couple of years ago and they saved my life. I am so grateful to the NHS and it is so unique.

“They were brilliant when we were there and the staff wanted to help, they really did, you could tell, but they just couldn’t. They don’t have the resources.”

Jeremy Corbyn said: “I’m delighted that Jack has made a full recovery.

“I’d like to thank healthcare staff – including those who treated Jack in Hastings, and his aunt, Sian – for all they do to help and treat patients.

“I’m disappointed at Theresa May’s response to my question about Jack’s experience.

"The Prime Minister showed just how in denial the government is about the scale of the crisis in the NHS.

“This shocking case shows the sheer scale of the crisis gripping our NHS.”

UK set to use by-products of cannabis as medicine

Cannabis

There appears to be a serious mixed reactions regarding the attempt by the United Kingdom to make the usage of cannabis lawful.

Starting this year 2017, any product which has contents of cannabis-based ingredients also known as cannabidiol (CBD) would be classified as medicines by the regulatory authority in charge of UK medicines.

So far, the Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) said it had looked at CBD because a lot of manufacturing companies had been making "overt medicinal claims" about products.

According to Gerald Heddel, director of inspection and enforcement at the agency, while speaking with Sky News said: "The change really came about with us offering an opinion that CBD is in fact a medicine, and that opinion was based on the fact that we noted that people were making some quite stark claims about serious diseases that could be treated with CBD."

Speaking further, he said that an appraisal of the confirmation showed that "it was clear that people are using this product with the understandable belief that it will actually help".

Investigation reveals that cannabis has two key ingredients - THC and CBD. The THC gets you stoned, and it can also make you anxious and psychotic.

On the other hand, isolated, CBD has the opposite effect, often calming people down - which is why some people are using it in small doses as medicine.

It has been revealed that a lot of person in Britain usually get the substance supplied to them online, in a free-for-all and possibly unsafe market, however, the resolve of the MHRA means that manufacturers will henceforth need to show their CBD products meet safety, quality and effectiveness standards.

Though some people who make use of CBDs are happy that at last the substance is being recognised as every other medicine, others are troubled about their supply.

Below are some examples of people who have benefited from CBD:

Louise Bostock's daughter Jayla has brain damage. Aged five, she cannot walk or talk and is unlikely to live beyond her childhood.

Ms Bostock turned to CBD to ease her daughter's symptoms after reading about studies in the US, where fits in children were cut by 50%.

During her interview with Sky News, said, Jayla no longer visit hospital every three or four weeks, as was the case.

As CBDs are currently normally only prescribed to adults with multiple sclerosis, authorities stepped in, which Ms Bostock feels was due to a lack of understanding about CBDs.

She said: "They try and criminalise it if you even mention cannabis, but when you are dealing with people who are going to die, how can anyone not give it to these people who have no hope?"

though there are serious concerns that the move could send mixed messages about the safety and legality of cannabis.

Dr Hamed Khan, medical lecturer at St George's University Hospital, stressed the ruling "is only about CBDs, which is something very specific, and not cannabis and marijuana as a whole".

Cannabis is not recognised in the UK as having any therapeutic value, and anyone using it could be charged with possession.

Campaigners for its legalisation say classifying CBDs as a medicine opens up the medicinal marijuana debate.

As making the medication accessible has been portrayed as a "game changer" in the battle against the disease.

An appeal was filed by the UK government against the ruling of the High Court on the matter constraining the NHS to support the arrangement of the medication.

In any case, appeal judges have also ruled against the government saying that it is up to the NHS to finance the anti-retroviral drug, which diminishes the danger of the disease who are considered to be at high risk by over 90%.

The court choices are questionable in light of the fact that the NHS made it clear that funding the medication would mean not having the capacity to pay for nine different medicines. These incorporated a medication to help youngsters with cystic fibrosis to inhale, prosthetic appendages for amputees and hearing aids for deaf individuals.

The foreseen cost of giving PrEP administrations is amongst £10m and £20m a year. Thus, commentators have said that at £400 per individual, every month, the medication treatment is excessively costly and those at high risk should make it a duty to engage in safer sex.

"You were driving like a lunatic," Judge Paul Watson QC told him, after sentencing him to eight months in prison.

"You were driving at an excessively fast speed on country roads and driving on the wrong side of the road.

"It is not only merciful, it is miraculous that no one was fatally injured. I have seen much less serious collisions that have resulted in tragic fatalities."

Due to the colossal damage, St Clair can't have children or an appropriate sexual relationship.

A woman aborts her 6 months-old mermaid (mammy water) pregnancy

6 month aborted baby

It has been reported that after 6 months of being pregnant, a lady aborted her pregnancy because doctors told her she was having a ‘mermaid-like foetus.

The 23-year-old opted for such after the result of a scan conducted at the Health Care Centre for Women and Children in Yichang City, in Central China’s Hubei Province.

Her decision to abort the pregnancy was further boosted when medical specialists suggested to her that the baby would only live for only few hours after birth.

According to the result of the scans the foetus had developed a 'tail-like growth' instead of legs. It had a stunted liver and did not have a bladder.

According to Doctors at the hospital told Wu the foetus was suffering from sirenomelia, a rare condition often referred to as 'Mermaid Syndrome'.

The causes behind sirenomelia are still unknown, but it occurs once in every 100,000 pregnancies.

It is an uncommon genetic abnormality in which the legs are merged together, giving them the appearance of a mermaid's tail.

Reports has it that, there are only two known survivors of Mermaid Syndrome in the world today.

How my baby was ripped from my womb - Michelle Wilkins

Baby ripped from the womb

Michelle Wilkins reveals her ordeal in the hand of a ‘foetal abductor’.

In the 7th month of her pregnancy, Michelle went to meet Dynel Lane to have a look at some of her advertised maternity clothes she sampled online. On getting there, Dynel pounced on her ferociously and ripped her unborn baby from her womb with 2 kitchen knives.

Cut 'from hip to hip', Michelle was strangled by Dynel until she was unconscious and had the baby, called Aurora, ripped from her womb.

During her foremost newspaper interview, Michelle stated: "She grabbed me by the sweater. I was yelling 'what are you doing?' She started saying I had attacked her.

"She pushed me into one of the nearby bedrooms. She wrestled me on to the bed, got on top of me and tried to start smothering me with a pillow."

A lava lamp was also smashed over Michelle’s head, while Dynel was trying to strangle her

In continuation she said: "I remember thinking: "I have to survive for Aurora," but then everything went black and the next I knew, I woke up on the floor.

"I tried to stand but I couldn't feel my legs, so I fell forwards. Then I became aware I could feel my insides through my pants - I could feel the blood seeping out.

"When I felt my intestines through my stomach, I hoped that was Aurora, that it wasn't my gut. I felt my intestines fall out of my body as I tried to get up."

Though as a result of the attack, Michelle lost about 50% of her blood, however, she still managed to make a call to the police who came her rescue and rushed her to the hospital, where she was resuscitated after her heart paused.

Sadly, the next morning she was told Aurora had not survived the tragedy.

Two days later and Aurora's body was brought to Michelle who revealed the hardest moment of her life was holding, dressing and singing to her lifeless baby.

Contrarily, Lane lied to the police she'd been attacked by Michelle and only ripped the baby from her womb because she thought the baby would not be safe with her mother.

But the truth was later revealed Dynel had deceived her boyfriend by telling him she was pregnant, which made her to go as far as showing him fake ultrasound images. She also claimed to have given birth at home on the day of the attack. When her boyfriend came, he found the baby in the bathtub and rushed his girl and the baby to the hosptital.

Dynel Lane was finally sentenced to 100 years in jail after being found guilty of seven offences, including attempted murder.

"There's no answer to the question, why does somebody do this? This woman was sick. My grief has been excruciating," said an amazingly empathetic Michelle.

Michelle has not given up on having a child but claims it's 'not where she's at' at the moment.

What a truly horrific story but an amazing show of strength from Michelle.

MALAWIAN MAN ALLEGEDLY RAPES AND INFECTS UNDER AGED GIRLS WITH HIV

Malawian man sleeps with under aged girls and infects them with HIV

A Malawian man named Eric Aniva, has told the BBC how he is always being paid £3 to sexually abuse children by members of their family for ritual purposes which is called ‘hyena’.

This ritual practice is a very popular in Southern Malawi, especially when a woman becomes a widow or aborts a baby.

Family members usually force their little girls into this initiation the moment they attain the age of puberty. Unbelievably, these girls are ‘taught’ how to have sex in such camps. This is done for more than three days at the end of their first period. According to the report, the purpose of it is to ‘avoid infection’ with their parents and other community members.

Notwithstanding the fact that Eric is an HIV infected man, these family members do not give any thought to the health of and safety of those children. This is because, according to their tradition, the use of condom is a taboo, as they believed that the ‘hyenas’ are free of disease because of their ‘good morals’ as claimed by the natives.

Eric, a native of Nsanje in southern Malawi told the BBC during an interview that he was initiated into ‘hyena’ in 1995 and has since then had affairs with more than 100 females, through which he has had five children.

According to him: "Most of those I have slept with are girls, school-going girls.

"Some girls are just 12 or 13 years old, but I prefer them older. All these girls find pleasure in having me as their hyena. Thy actually are proud and tell other people that this man is a real man, he knows how to please a woman."

Though Eric never told any of these families he is HIV-positive, this was made to during the interview with the BBC.

According to the Permanent Secretary of the Malawian Government Ministry of Gender and Welfare, Dr May Sheba: "We are not going to condemn these people. But we are going to give them information that they need to change their rituals."

Meanwhile, Chrissie, a community elder who organises the initiation process in the camps, told the BBC: "There's nothing wrong with our culture.

"If you look at today's society, you can see that girls are not responsible, so we have to train our girls in a good manner in the village, so that they don't go astray, are good wives so that the husband is satisfied, and so that nothing bad happens to their families."
